As I posted before, I am going to the Denver show.

I also am not happy with $100 tickets, especially without Jerry there to keep the music weird!

I remember going to Eugene, MacArthur Court, in 1981, My girlfriend and I had hitchhiked from Boulder without tickets. When we got there, people were selling extras for $5!!! No-one showed up, the show was half full and the boys just blazed, with a visit from Ken Babbs and the Thunder Machine during Drums.

I must say, I do consider myself lucky in the concert department. In addition to all the Grateful Dead shows I am old enough to have seen some of the greatest musicians of the last 40 years. I was able to catch Bob Marley in '79, Peter Tosh in '80 and '81, Little Feat with Lowell George in '78, Frank Zappa 3 times, '77 and '78 in NYC, and '79 at the Fox in Atlanta, Led Zep in '79, The Stones in '77 and '81, The Who with Keith Moon in '77 and without in '79 and '82, The Ramones and Sex Pistols at CBGB's in '77 (seperate shows), Pink Floyd "The Wall" Concert at Nassau in '79, The Dinosaurs in '81 and '82, The Clash in '81 at Red Rocks, and many other great shows featuring great artists who are no longer with us, or are no longer together.

Hey PG--I was only funnin' with everyone below...I would not begrudge anyone paying any amt for what they want.

I have paid big bucks to do any number of things that aren't defensible, by any stretch.

Sporting events for one--RIGHT, GRENDEL!?

I wish that I could share your feelings! I would love to get back all the money and time I wasted traveling to and attending all those shitty early 80's shows...

I remember seeing Elvis Costello for free on a Monday night show case on North Beach in 1976...

Not sure what's up with Cliff, but his lover must of got in the mobyvan.

I had some fun times in the 80's, met some good people, and poked around quite abit.

$100.00 is still cheaper than a Nevada Hooker.

PG,

I lived in Boulder and Arvada after attending Regis, Iam now stuck in Saudi Aurora. I saw alot of the same shows you did in 70;s and 80;s.

I choose not to pay the $100 bills for a bad seat in a less than desirable venue but I don't begrudge anyone on how they spend their own money. If they had made a run at the Rocks I too may have decided it was worth the cash as I did for the Allman Bro's and Bobby last fall.

If Phil & Friends roll thru I never miss them.

If you ever want to compare notes on shows let me know I can always spend some time tradin or bs'n on the hayday of r&r.
